So today we’re having a garage sell and it’s been a success so far. The early customers were the best by far. We sold our set of four tables (which was our big ticket item) so I’m most happy about that. Most of our stuff has sold without much of a hassle though. We’re still lugging around our metal desk and bakers rack. But the day is young.

October 12, 2007 by KyleSome people try and argue that the original U.K. version of “The Office” is better than the U.S. version. But I have to disagree, and then laugh loudly in my head at those people. However, it is true that the whole 1st season and a few of the first episodes from the second season (U.S.) copy off of the U.K. version. But now with the 4th season underway, the show has taken on an image all it’s own.
If you’ve never seen the show, then you’ve probably been living under a rock or are extremely religious and don’t watch t.v. (I know because I used to be there.) But the basic premise of the show is that of a documentary style that records the lives of a group of employees at a mid-level paper company in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The boss, Michael Scott, is loved and hated by his employees. Dwight K. Schrute, the assistant to the regional manager, is not only the office kiss ass but a lowly beet farmer and volunteer sheriffs deputy as well. Jim Halpert, one of the sales reps, and Pam Beesly, the receptionist, are finally together after 3 seasons of flirting. Those, to me, are the main characters, then after you’ve watched the show long enough you begin to see in all the characters what makes the show so great … that smart simple humor that reminds those of us who have spent any time working in an office.
So, for me, it doesn’t get any better than Thursday nights at 8 on NBC. (My hour of bliss.)
